Adam Badowski

Head of CD Projekt RED studio. He began his career in 1995 as a designer and draughtsman for Kolski and Partners Film & Advertising agency involved mostly in developing storyboards for TV spots and commercials, and as a freelance graphics expert in commercials and video clips. Connected professionally with CD Projekt Group since 2002.

As a 3-D graphic and animator, he was in the first Łódź team working on the Witcher (Polish: Wiedźmin) project. One of the people responsible for the concept, and the artistic vision of both Witcher and Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Before the merger of CD Projekt RED sp. z o.o. and CD Projekt RED SA, he was a member of the board of the first, responsible for the operation of the company and its games production.

Completed his studies at the Philosophy and History Faculty of the Łódź University (without degree).

   

Michał Bobrowski

An enthusiast of the video games market, long journeys, and opera music, Michał Bobrowski began his adventure with games in the days of 8-bit computers. In 1995–2000, he worked in external public relations. In 2001, he managed to combine his fondness of virtual entertainment with questions related to online advertising by joining GRY-OnLine SA, a company holding the unquestioned position of the leader of Polish video games media. Since 2001, he has been a member of its board and the managing director.

Adrian Chmielarz

One of the best-known Polish game developers, currently working in The Astronauts studio he started.

One of the names behind Tajemnica Statuetki (Mystery of the Statuette), first Polish PC adventure game. Has designed games for 20 years since, together with Grzegorz Miechowski, he started Metropolis Software. Chmielarz worked also on Teenagent and Gorky 17. In 2002, together with Andrzej Poznański and Michał Kosieradzki, he started People Can Fly studio, which published Painkiller in 2004. Since 2007 he worked with his team on Bulletstorm, a game that premiered on the international market in 2011. As the creative director of the studio, he entered collaboration with Epic Games.

   

Guillaume de Fondaumiere

A Co-CEO and executive producer of game development studio Quantic Dream, which he joined in 2013. In David Cage’s company, he supervises all business and organisational matters. The executive producer of Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy (2005), and two exclusive PlayStation 3 titles developed in collaboration with Sony Computer Entertainment, namely, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls with Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe impersonating the two central characters, whose premiere is planned for this autumn.

Earlier, Guillaume was among the founders of Arxel Tribe studio, where he was the CEO and Executive Producer of all games.

Guillaume is the President of the European Games Development Federation (EGDF). Holding this post, he convinced the European Union about the cultural values inherent in videogames, and efficiently lobbied the French government to introduce tax concessions for videogame production.

Since January 2012, Guillaume de Fondaumiere has also been a member of the board of the Swiss Arts Council - Pro Helvetia. In 2008, he was made a knight of France’s National Order of Merit.

   

Konstantin Dieterle

As Head of Advertizer Relations, Konstantin is responsible for developing and consulting on mobile marketing strategies and plans that go hand in hand with the advertiser's user acquisition goals.

Before joining AppLift, a HitFox Group portfolio company, Konstantin gained experience in the field of sales and business development at Oracle Corporation. He then joined Google where he managed and supported German-based online gaming customers with their online/performance marketing strategies and successfully helped launching several mobile- and browsergames worldwide.

   

Volker Dressel

Volker Dressel is the Chief Marketing Officer of InnoGames. He is responsible for the departments Marketing and Public Relations. Before joining the company, he worked as Senior Director of Marketing for Just A Game, a mobile gaming company.

He also headed marketing for Gamigo, a browser game publisher, and acted as advisor for several other online gaming companies.

   

Michał Drobot

Specialist in technology and graphics at Guerrilla Games, Sony. Currently works on Killzone: Shadow Fall on PlayStation 4. An enthusiast of interactive graphics and art. His previous assignment were 3D engine and graphics at Reality Pump, where he worked on Two Worlds and Two Worlds 2. Former lecturer and one of the founders of the European Games Academy (EGA).

Alexander Dubrovin

He has been with Alawar Entertainment since 2009. Prior to joining the company, Alexander held numerous marketing leadership positions in large Russian companies. As Marketing Director (2009-2010) he devoted himself to Alawar’s game distribution development, enhancement of Affiliate Program, market research and analysis, and the promotion of the company’s online resources and game brands. In 2011, he was appointed as a VP of Mobile Platforms taking lead in development and distribution of Alawar’s first mobile and freemium game titles.

During the last several years Alexander had built a solid production line for mobile and made significant achievements in international games’ sales and distribution, as a result of which he was appointed as a VP of Marketing and Sales within Alawar Publishing business unit.

   

Mirosław Dymek

President of Reality Pump Game Development Studios, games developer. Author of (among others), the two Worlds RPG series that currently consists of five games (Two Worlds, Two Worlds: Curse of Souls, Two Worlds II, Two Worlds: Castle Defense, and Two Worlds II: Pirates of the Flying Fortress), and of the multi-platform, logical 3SwitcheD.
   

Piotr Gnyp

Long related with games of all sorts. Earlier, author of RPG games and extensions, associated withMagia i Miecz magazine. He established the Polskie Elizjum Świata Mroku (Polish Elysium of the World of Darkness): an informal group of artists gathered around White Wolf’s World of Darkness. He worked on a game with Metropolis, and started Polygamia: one of most popular video games services. Currently, as the editor-in-chief of Blomedia.pl, he works on Gadżetomania, Komórkomania, Fotoblogia, and Cyberparenting portals.

   

Leszek  Godlewski

Programmer for gameplay, animation, tools, sometimes even the engine; also a technical artist, should the need arise. A Farmer of 3 years, he had spent years on game modding and open-source projects.

Tomasz Gop

A graduate from the Faculty of Cybernetics at the Military University of Technology, Tomasz has been behind the success of numerous Polish role play games (RPGs).

Currently affiliated with City Interactive, he supervises the production of Lords of the Fallen action RPG.

   

Andrzej Graniak

Conducts training in concept art and character design. One of the people behind Potęga Obrazu (www.potegaobrazu.pl). Draughtsman, illustrator, concept artist. Moves skilfully across a range of styles, using various tools. Knows quite a bit about illustration.

Andrzej has worked as a draughtsman for 23 years. His works have been published in numerous Polish and foreign magazines and books. Participant of exhibitions and competitions. Winner of awards and honourable mentions at Satyrykon in Legnica, in Olen (Belgium), and Ankara (Turkey). Currently is working on animated films, games and comics concepts, and on book illustrations.

   

Paweł Graniak

Professionally involved in character design. Runs training in concept and character design, one of the names behind Potęga Obrazu (www.potegaobrazu.pl). Designer by education. Specialist in visual communication. Proficient in both traditional and digital techniques, digital painting included.

Makes designs for computer games, comics, and animated films. Author of computer game concepts and covers, Paweł illustrates also board and card games. Has worked for press and book publishers, and later was the art director in advertising agencies. Currently runs his own design studio.

   

Sławomir Idziak

Upon graduating from The Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź, he has become a well-known cinematographer, screenwriter, director and lecturer.

As a director of photography Idziak has made over 70 films in 19 countries, i.e. with Krzysztof Kieślowski (“Double Life of Veronique”, “Blue”) Andrzej Wajda (“The conductor”), Krzysztof Zanussi (“A year of the Quiet Sun”), Ridley Scott (“Black Hawk Down”), Taylor Hackford (“Proof of life”), Michael Winterbottom (“I want you”), Johan Sayles (“Men with Gun”), David Yeats (“Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix”).

For his work as a cinematographer and director, he has received a number of awards and distinctions at the festivals in Berlin, Venice, Prague, Aucland and Gdynia. He was nominated for BAFTA, Cesar, and Oscar awards.

This vast experience as both a filmmaker and lecturer urged him to open new doors in film education. He is the author and coordinator of a European community portal for filmmakers www.filmspringopen.eu and the annual Film Spring Open-Air workshops (since 2005).

   

Jacek Jankowski

Responsible for the development of the games platform and applications at Nasza Klasa, Jacek made his first steps in online marketing in the 1990s. He worked among others for Pro-Creation and Max Weber, and also for Ostryga: Poland's first agency specialising in the use of games for promotion purposes.

In his professional life, he also developed nobagames.com platform, as part of Redefine, a company owned by Polsat. Moreover, he collaborated with start-ups involved in games and applications.

   

Szymon Janus

Owner of Intermarum, a graduated of Opole University. In game development for nearly a decade, for over 3 years owner of Intermarum studio in Opole, where he manages production and design.

Stan Just

Producer at 11 bit studios. A games fan and building computer games practitioner. A graduate in Psychology at the Jagiellonian University, he specialises in advertising and consumer behaviour. Coordinated the production of a number of games including Two Worlds II: PotFF, Two Worlds II Castle Defense, and 3SwitcheD; recently supported the process of development of Anomaly Warzone Earth for Xbox 360.

Currently coordinates 11 bit studios projects that have not yet been disclosed to the public.

   

Arne Kaiser

He is a passionate gamer with over six years experience in the industry. Back in 2008, after several years of working for a marketing agency, he founded his own company to develop new kinds of browser based Serious Games, which still exists today. In 2011 he joined Gameforge where he pushed different projects in the area of in-game-monetization, customer loyalty and customer lifecycle monetization, before becoming Director of Marketing in the beginning of 2012. In this position he is responsible for the worldwide branding and marketing of the entire game portfolio and directs the departments of Marketing Management, Territory Management and Social Media & Community Management.

A graduate of Casimir the Great University in Bydgoszcz. In computer games sector for 9 years. In his professional life, Remigiusz has completed nearly 200 projects for most hardware platforms, collaborating with leading world-class firms. Paweł Marchewka

Graduate in Economics from the Wrocław University and holder of MBA from the School of Banking (WSB). In 1991, he founded Techland, and led the company to the position of the leader in electronic entertainment sector in Poland and one of the largest global independent developers. After involvement in distribution and publishing, early in the new millennium, the company embarked on a conquest of international markets with own brand products. Published in 2011, Dead Island is the best and fastest selling game in the history of the Polish sector, and at the same time a global success in the category of new, original IPs.

Besides holding the post of the CEO, Paweł Marchewka is Techland’s Creative Director directly involved in the production of games: one of his past and future passions.

   

Maciej Miąsik

A veteran of the Polish games industry, he’s been in the field for over 20 years. Producer, designer, programmer, and sound designer. Co-author of the cult Electro Body and many  other recognised titles: Fire Fight, a series of adventure games Schizm, and the first Wiedźmin (Witcher).

Currently involved in the making of new generation community games for one2tribe. Moreover, Maciej lectures game design at PJWSTK and games production at Warsaw Film School, and coorganises the Digital Frontier courses.

Michał Miłosz

Territory Manager at Gameforge responsible for the CEE market. He has over 4 years experience in the video games industry which includes project management, marketing management, event and PR management. Through his experience and education Miłosz has developed a keen sense of marketing and video games industry expertise. He had opportunity to work with biggest international corporations in the gaming industry, like Codemasters, Sega, THQ, Konami and Activision-Blizzard. He was a product manager for “Diablo III” on the Polish Market and member of a team responsible for the “Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings” release.

Now he continues his career on F2P market by developing central and eastern Europe markets for Gameforge.

   

Julia Palatovska

She has 9 years of experience in IT / telecommunication industry with specialization in international business development. Since joining G5 in 2008 Julia has played active part in G5's transformation from game developer to publisher, being responsible for distribution, marketing, and games license acquisition.

Today Julia is focused on relations with independent game development studios, and on adding new channels to G5's distribution network.

   

James Portnow

He received his masters from Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center, went on to work for Activision as a designer on the Call of Duty series before raising funds to start his own company, Divide by Zero Games. Recently he is opened Rainmaker Games a design and narrative consulting firm that has worked with partners from Warner Bros. to Zynga.

James Portnow has written for every major trade publication including Gamasutra, The Escapist, Edge &c.  He is currently the writer on the hit consumer facing series about game design: Extra Credits.  He is known for his theories on socially positive design and has been asked to speak at universities and companies around the world. He is the co-author of a book on Invented Languages being published by Oxford University Press to be released this fall.

James Portnow also holds a professorship at Digipen Institute of Technology where he teaches masters level game production and undergraduate level game design.

Jan-Michel Saaksmeier

Director in New Games Development. He is responsible for production, game design and virtual economy of all internal produced games. He works for Bigpoint since 2009. Jan-Michel holds a Master of Business and Computer Science. He started as the producer of Farmerama one of the most successful farm simulations in the world. Rafał Stanowski

Journalist, specialising in film and computer games. Head of the cultural section of Dziennik Polski local daily, where he has examined the sector for a decade. He published also with another local daily, Gazeta Krakowska, and web portals: Onet and Portal Filmowy. Collaborated with TVN and Superstacja TV broadcasters.

Defines himself as a gamer and viewer assessing pop culture, not only from the position of the critic but also one who tries to enter the role of its consumer. Which is why he co-authors a films and games portal, HopDog.pl, whose editor-in-chief he is.

Michał Szymczyk

Lead Programmer at Plastic Demoscene Group, the makers of “Linger In Shadows”, “Datura” and most recently a benchmark called “Catzilla”.

   

Ragnar Tornquist

Ragnar Tornquist worked for Funcom since 1994, helping to develop a number of games, notably Anarchy Online and The Secret WorldOnline. In 2012, he started the Red Thread Games studio, as he wanted to return to his most popular production – The Longest Journey and its continuation Dreamfall: The Longest Journey (2006). To achieve his objective, Tornquist acquired licencing rights thanks to a campaign he organised via Kickstarter, successfully collecting more than USD 1.5 million.

   

Dominika Urbańska-Galanciak

Holds a doctorate of humanities in cultural sciences. The managing director of the association of Entertainment Software Producers and Distributors, a representative of the Republic of Poland at the Interactive Software Federation of Europe, and a member of the Programme Council of the Games Research Association of Poland (PTBG).

Author of the book Homo Players. Strategie odbioru gier komputerowych (literally: “Homo Players. Strategies of reception of computer games”) and publications on the educational use of games.

   

Vincent Vergonjeanne

Former CEO & Co-Founder of Kobojo, a European leader in the Social Gaming industry. Kobojo currently hires over 70 people, and was backed by top European VC's in 5.3M€ Series A in April 2011.

Holder of a higher doctorate, Head of the Games Technology Chair at the Jagiellonian University, and the Director of the European Games Academy. Involved in the Information Society Interdepartmental Postgraduate Studies and the Steering Team of the European Games Centre cluster.

Jarosław Wojczakowski

Deputy Executive Officer, Director for Production at Vivid Games.

Graduated from Telecommunication and Multimedia at the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz. One of Poland’s most talented programmers.

Jarosław has used his extensive experience to create the world-unique V-TECH technology, which quickly ranked Vivid Games among notable developers of worldwide renown.

   

Marek Wylon

Investor, owner and co-founder of several development studios making up Ganymede group, the largest aggregation of game creators specializing in social and mobile apps. Total employee count in the group exceeds 120.

By profession, he is a programmer, a graduate of Cracow University of Science and Technology. By choice – a games enthusiast, fan of interactive entertainment and diving.

   

Pascal Zuta

CEO of Aeria Games Europe GmbH and oversees the European publishing division, which has enjoyed substantial growth since then. Pascal is especially proud of Aeria Games Europe’s use of metric analysis for targeted marketing. Prior to joining Aeria Games in summer 2009, Pascal was in charge of Corporate Development for Bertelsmann, Inc in San Francisco. He has several years of experience as an entrepreneur and leader in the film and new media industry.

Pascal received his MBA at the European Business School Oestrich-Winkel and University of Berkeley in California. He also holds a Doctor's degree in media science from the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen Konrad Wolff.
