The worse it sounds, the better! Creative process behind Seven: The Days Long Gone soundtrack
Marcin is best known for his work on The Witcher video games franchise, which were sold in nearly 20 million copies worldwide, including the third instalment of the series – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – won over 800 awards and distinctions, including Best Music of 2015 (MocArt RMF Classic), Best Videogame Soundtrack (Hollywood Music in Media Awards – nominated), Achievement in Audio (BAFTA Games Awards – nominated).
His contributions to The Vanishing of Ethan Carter have won him Best Audio 2014 award (Digital Dragons), as well as number of nominations, including Best Sound Design (IGN Best of 2014) and Best Audio for an Indie Game (13th Annual GANG Awards).
Marcin composed music to prestigious advertising campaings carried out by Platige Image: Move Your Imagination (for the International Tourist Fair, Berlin 2012), commisioned by Polish Tourist Organisation and Animated Guide to Polish Success (for the Polish EXPO 2012 pavilion in Shanghai), commisioned by Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. He also composed music for polish TV series Crown of Kings (polish: Korona Królów).
In 2016, Marcin won the title of The Most Listened Polish Artist Abroad on Spotify.
Marcin Przybyłowicz will talk artistic challenges of composing the music to Seven: The Days Long Gone. Soundtrack is built around “junk instruments” concept, which quickly became the foundation of its sound palette and part of Seven’s DNA in general. Marcin’s talk will cover the whole creative process, from preproduction through recording sessions, to mixing and implementation.
