Oddmar Design Postmortem
Ozgur Taskin is a senior game and product designer with over eight years of experience. He co-founded MobGe Games in 2012 with his college friend. From there he started building MobGe’s game tools. He took part in the tools designs, game design, and level design. In early 2018, MobGe released its first title Oddmar which win the Apple Design Award 2018. He is currently working on an unannounced project of MobGe.
This talk will be about finding the best spot on the Appstore with understanding studio talent and platform needs for the premium games. Publishing premium games are getting even harder with the domination of the f2p games. But there are some spots that the developer can still find a way and develop sweet games for them. Understanding the user, studio talents, outsourcing opportunities, finding the right publisher and many other strategies are crucial to developing the right game for the right audience. In this talk, I will talk about how we determine strategies to build the best action-platformer game to the mobile market and how we win the Apple Design Award.
