Desperately seeking the context
Ryszard Chojnowski, born 1973, was always interested in gaming. Therefore when in 1997 he graduated at Wrocław University with a master degree in English Literature, he decided to start translating games. He launched his company called Albion in 1999, and since that time he localized over 300 games for Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Blizzard Entertainment, Epic Games and many other clients. Additionally, in 2003-2004 he helped in kickstarting the Witcher, working as the project lead. Currently, he is enjoying his sabbatical, at the same working on a Ph.D. entitled “Game localization – a study in culture and linguistics”.
