Animation Philosophy (In video-games)
Over ten years of experience in the game industry, covered titles such as the Crysis Series, Mad Max, The Witcher 3, Strange Brigade. Former Senior Product Designer for Autodesk Motionbuilder, Currently Animation Director for AMD. Worked on other products such as Lord Inquisitor and OriginZero. Soheyl is a master in animation pipelines and have worked with multiple engines and discovered different workflows, both technical and aesthetical.
In animation, philosophy is rarely discussed, most preferring rather to jump into practical techniques or instructions how to use specific software. This speech will introduce a different mindset to how to approach solving any situation in games. Diving in deep into some of its tenets & theories, drawing conclusions that boil down to practical workflows we create a topic of conversation for creative authors of animation. This speech will cover an introduction to the philosophy and prove empirically its use, go deep into one of the tenet of Animation philosophy. Intended for animators/designers with some experience.
