Teut Weidemann is a F2P game & monetization expert and works for international clients worldwide on their F2P games. With over 25 years of industry experience he is one of the elder game producers in Germany. In 1996 he founded his own development studio “Wings Simulations” which shipped the highly awarded Panzer Elite, one of the top 50 best games of all time according to Rock Paper Shotgun.
He sold his studio to the public listed company Jowood AG in 2000. Until 2005 he shipped the online team based shooter “Söldner – Secret Wars” that featured for the first time a fully destructible environment in an online game.
After 2005 he was called into the board of CDV AG as CEO, one of the eldest publishers in Germany. During his time as CEO he was responsible for development, IT and marketing.
End of 2007 he become an independent consultant for online games & monetization and consulted various clients how to enter or optimize their online games efforts in development, life operations or raising KPI’s on free to play games on mobile, console and PC.
Teut is known due to his polarizing talks on various conferences in Europe and USA.
This talk will give you ways to optimize reach of your f2p game before you even start prototyping. Professionally it might be called product positioning or product strategy but we go into much more depth regarding your potential target audience and you will learn about player habits, preferences by region, age or gender and even how graphic style is difficult to create to address a world audience. Specifically we go into detail about how genre will influence your audience size.
The final verdict and take away is a method where you can put your game idea in and get a good impression how large your audience potentially can be – which makes f2p games more likely to succeed.
