Designing, Prototyping, and Implementing an Engaging PvP Multiplayer Experience
After reworking the primary game mode in the multiplayer game Total War: Arena from the ground up, we discuss the components that make engaging multiplayer experiences, drawing learnings from existing games, creating an initial redesign, prototyping ideas, playtesting, and getting the most out of limited feedback.
David is a Lead Designer at Creative Assembly. He began his career as a QA Engineer in 2012 and moved into a design role in 2014. He has since worked as Lead Designer on Total War: ARENA, and is now applying himself to upcoming unannounced Total War projects.
