Games for Health, Edumais & Lapp
1. Games from the Favelas and 2. How You Could Contribute to Inclusion and Diversity
Teenagers from the favelas of Brazil present their insights and learnings from enrolling in a month of serious games development. Together with Dutch designers and Brazilian devs, these teenagers created games for to improve their living conditions, learn a language or develop mathematical skills.
The results of this educational (and fun!) month will be presented by the teenagers themselves. The talk will give a unique insight into the Brazilian perspective on interactive edutainment.
Dr. Menno van Pelt-Deen explores game design in new and weird contexts (think, swimming pools, therapeutic sessions, forests, and more). By creating games with professionals, students and non-game developers, Menno fosters the inclusion of new perspectives and domains into the creative industry of game development.
Currently, He works on games that fight cancer, artrose, loneliness and other (mental) health related subjects. Always trying to connect people playfully.
